In Texas, WGU's middle grades science endorsement program leads to an endorsement in Middle Grades Science, Grades 4-8 

 

1) Content Exams: TExES Science 4–8
While this exam is not necessary for graduation, you must pass this exam to be recommended for certification.

 

2) WGU Program RequirementPraxis 5440, Middle School Science 

You must pass this exam, or a WGU Program Requirement exam previously accepted for the Middle Grades Science program, in order to graduate from this program and be recommended for certification. 

 


In Texas, WGU's secondary science endorsement programs lead to an endorsement in one of the following areas 

Life Science, Grades 7-12
Chemistry, Grades 7-12
Physical Science, Grades 6-12
General Science, Grades 7-12

You must pass this exam to graduate from the MASE Biology program.

 

2) Texas Content Exam: TExES Life Science 7-12 (238)

While this exam is not necessary for graduation, you must pass this exam to be recommended for certification.

 

MASE Grades 5-12 (Secondary): Chemistry

 

1) WGU Program RequirementPraxis 5245 Chemistry: Content Knowledge

You must pass this exam to graduate from the MASE Chemistry program.

 

2) Texas Content Exam: TExES Chemistry 7-12 (240) 

While this exam is not necessary for graduation, you must pass this exam to be recommended for certification.

 


MASE Grades 5-12 (Secondary): Physics

 

1) WGU Program RequirementPraxis 5265 Physics: Content Knowledge

You must pass this exam to graduate from the MASE Physics program.

 

2) Texas Content Exam: TExES Physical Science 6-12 (237) 
You must pass this exam to graduate from the MASE Biology program.

 


MASE Grades 5-12 (Secondary): Geoscience

Praxis 5571 Earth & Space Sciences:

 Content Knowledge

You must pass this exam to graduate from the MASE Geoscience program. 

 

Earth Science certification is not available in Texas. Graduates of this program typically pass the TExES Science 7-12 (236) exam for certification in General Science
