The information in this article applies to students enrolled in WGU programs that lead to a Utah Secondary Science Endorsement (Master of Arts, Science Education).

General information for adding endorsements in subject areas that are not offered at WGU can be found through the Utah State Office of Education.
Graduates of WGU's Master of Arts, Science Education (5-9 or 5-12) programs are eligible to add a Secondary Science Endorsement to their existing Utah license. Please follow these steps to add the Utah Secondary Science Endorsement:
Step 1: Download the Application for the Utah State Board of Education, Secondary Science Endorsement form to your computer and open it in Acrobat Reader. Do not open it in a web browser as it will not save any information that you enter.
Note: Despite the fact that fees are listed on the application form, the Utah State Office of Education is not currently requiring fees for endorsement applications. No check is required to be included with your application.
Step 2: Enter your personal information in the Applicant Information fields, including your most current address. Save your application, then send it as an attachment to an email requesting your recommendation to firstname.lastname@example.org. A WGU Certification Officer will finalize the application form, print and highlight an official WGU transcript, and mail them to the Utah State Office of Education on your behalf. You will receive an email notification of submission with an attached copy of your form for your records.
It usually takes 2-3 weeks from the date of submission for your recommendation to be processed.
