Vermont BA Special Education/ Elementary Education Certification and Exam Requirements

In Vermont, this program leads to a Level I teaching license with endorsements in Elementary Education Grades K-6 and Special Educator Grade K-8 and/or Grade 7 through Age 21

1) Elementary Education Content Exam: Praxis 5001, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects

You must pass this exam to graduate from the program and be recommended for Vermont certification.

Or, Praxis 5031, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects if passed prior to 9/1/2015.  

Or, Praxis 5014, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects if passed prior to 12/31/2012. 

 

2) WGU Special Education Content Exam: Praxis 5543 Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications

This exam satisfies the WGU Program Requirement. If you matriculated on 9/1/2011 of later, you must pass this exam to graduate from your program and be recommended for Vermont certification.
