WI Basic Skills Requirements

The Wisconsin DPI requires out-of-state applicants to complete an approved basic skills or college entrance exam in order to receive a Wisconsin teaching license. Because WGU is based in Utah and is considered an out-of-state institution in Wisconsin, WGU students must complete one of the following exams:
 
Basic Skills Exam:
Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5751)
OR Praxis I, Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST), if passed by 8/31/14

Approved College Entrance Exams:
ACT Plus Writing Test - Composite Score of 22 and combined English/Writing score of 20
ACT Test - Score of 23 with minimum sub-scores of 20 on English, Math and Reading
SAT (effective 9/1/15) - Mathematics = 520, Critical Reading = 510, Writing = 480
GRE (taken on or after 8/1/11) - Quantitative Reasoning = 145, Verbal Reasoning = 150, Analytical Writing = 3
GRE (taken prior to 8/1/11) - Quantitative Reasoning = 540, Verbal Reasoning = 450, Analytical Writing = 3
