WI Secondary Science Certification and Exam Requirements

In Wisconsin, this program leads to a Middle and High School Science (Grades 4-12) license with one of the following supplemental areas, based on your program emphasis:  

Biology
Chemistry

Earth and Space Science
Physics

 
All students must pass the Praxis 5435, General Science: Content Knowledge exam plus one of the following WGU program requirement specialized content area exams, based on your program emphasis:

While Wisconsin does not require you to apply for and receive a UT teaching license before applying for WI licensure, WI does require you to be eligible for UT certification.  This means that you will need to pass both the UT content exam required for initial licensure in your area of science specialization and the exam that WI requires (Praxis 5435) in order to be eligible for certification in WI.
